
Gators Distance Corps Locks in New PRs, National Top-10 Time in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Florida's distance runners wrapped up competition Saturday afternoon at the two-day Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., posting a top-10 Division I time and several new personal records.
Senior Justin Pacifico finished first among collegians in the men's 800 meters invitational portion of the competition. The mid-distance runner posted a new personal-best time of 1:49.51, which converts down to 1:47.97 and lands in the No. 6 spot in Division I.
In addition to Pacifico, other runners also improved their personal-best times.
Sophomore Imogen Barrett, who represented the Gators in the women's mile invitational, crossed with a time of 4:46.15. The Australia native topped her personal best by 1.16 seconds.
Junior Abbie Harrelson closed the weekend for the Gators by finishing second among collegians at the women's 800 meters (invitational). The runner crossed with a time of 2:08.49, which converts down to 2:07.03 after the flat-track conversion. The time is also a new indoor personal best for Harrelson and ranks 17th in the nation.
Other Gators who logged new personal-best times include freshman Jackie Addy (5:07.19 – Mile), redshirt junior Dominic Williams (9:09.55 – 3,000 meters) and redshirt senior Caitlin McQuilkin-Bell (17:07.08 – 5,000 meters). Additionally, redshirt sophomore Nick Deal, who crossed in 14:33.51 in the 5,000 meters, set a new indoor personal record.
The Gators return to action next weekend, as they travel to Clemson, S.C. to compete in this year's Tiger Paw Invitational.
