Gators are in a group with hosts Texas, Arizona and Liberty
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 9 Florida (2-0) will play Arizona (2-0) on Friday at 11 a.m. ET in Austin, Texas for the first match of the 2021 ITA Kickoff Weekend.
The Gators were originally scheduled to take on Oklahoma State, but the Cowboys dropped out of the tournament on Tuesday due to contact tracing and COVID-19 protocols within their program.
Arizona was then moved up to the No. 3 seed to play No. 2 seed Florida while hosts Texas will play Liberty, which entered the tournament to replace OSU.
The winner of each matchup will advance to the final on Saturday with the victor of that match claiming a spot in the 2021 ITA National Team Indoor Championship on Feb. 12-14 in Champaign, Illinois at the Atkins Tennis Center.
The Gators are entering the tournament coming off of a strong opening weekend of dual match play, in which they defeated in-state foes FAU, 7-0, and USF, 6-1.
The Wildcats head to Austin after winning their first two matches of the season, a doubleheader against Grand Canyon University, 7-0 and 6-1.
Live stats and live video links will vary depending on which courts each match is on. Both matches on Friday are expected to be on the North Courts.
On Saturday, the championship match will stay on the North Courts while the consolation match will be on the South Courts.
Should any bad weather force matches inside, there will be no live video feed available, just live stats.
