BATON ROUGE, La. – The Florida men's golf team climbed five spots on the leaderboard behind a 7-under par second round to sit in sole possession of first place heading into the final round at the LSU Invitational.
 
Yuxin Lin dominated for the Gators, posting a 6-under par 66 and setting the low score of the tournament through two rounds. Lin turned in a flawless scorecard, recording six birdies and making par on each of the other 12 holes. The sophomore currently sits in a tie for 2nd place individually.
 
Ricky Castillo also shined for Florida, carding a 4-under par 68 to find himself in the top-10 at the conclusion of the second day. Castillo and Lin combined for 12 birdies and only two bogeys on the day.
 
Fred Biondi joins Castillo in a tie for 7th place with an overall 1-over par score through two rounds.
 
Joe Pagdin and Tyler Wilkes, the two freshmen anchors of the Florida lineup, round out the Gators scorecards.
 
Individually, John DuBois is holding his own on the leaderboard. He is currently in a tie for 26th heading into the final round of competition.
 
The Gators will tee it up at 11:10 a.m. ET tomorrow morning and look to claim their third straight tournament win of the spring.

"We talked a lot last night about responding to adversity, how great players and great teams find a way to bounce back. How great teams stick together and fight for each other when things get tough. That's how we want to be defined."
 
On today's round…
"Round one was not a good day for the Gators, but I couldn't be more proud of what I saw out there today. An incredibly disciplined and focused team who plotted their way back into the tournament. We've got a great opportunity tomorrow being in contention on a challenging golf course."
 
On Ricky Castillo and Yuxin Lin…
"Yuxin and Ricky were incredible today. 12 birdies and only two bogeys between them. On that golf course, in that wind… wow! Those rounds are just so good. Great players always find a way to get back in contention after tough starts. Our studs did that today!"
