GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida's highly-ranked track and field teams will compete at two different meets this weekend with the distance corps heading to Jacksonville to compete in this year's UNF Invite, while the rest of the team is off to Baton Rouge for the LSU Invitational.
The Gators, who rank at No. 4 on the men's side and No. 10 on the women's side on this week's USTFCCCA national polls, will begin competing at North Florida on Thursday with performances in the 1,500 and 5,000 meters.
Redshirt sophomores Gabrielle Wilkinson and Imogen Barrett, who entered UF's All-Time Top 10 list at this year's Pepsi Florida Relays, will headline the 1,500 meters race for the Gators.
Meanwhile on the men's side, redshirt senior Marshall Dillon will represent the Gators in the 1,500, while redshirt sophomore Trevor Foley will run the 5,000 meters.
Florida's headliners for the LSU Invitational on Saturday are Claire Bryant and Denzel Villaman.
Bryant, who ranks sixth on this year's NCAA Division I Outdoor Qualifying list, will be joined by fellow freshman Alissa Braxton and senior Nadia Williams in the long jump.
Meanwhile on the track, Villaman will represent the Gators in the 400-meters hurdles. He ranks ninth nationally.
