
10 Gators, 8 Gator Greats Set to Compete at USATF Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - America's finest athletes will converge on Eugene, Ore. for the 2022 Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships this weekend at Hayward Field.
The four-day event will serve as the qualifying meet for the 2022 World Athletics Championships which are also set to be contested in Eugene this July.
10 athletes from Florida's 2022 roster as well as eight Gator Greats are scheduled to compete this weekend in search of a spot with Team USA.
The top-three athletes in each event will qualify to the World Championships this summer, so long as they meet the world standard in their respective events.
A number of athletes are eligible for automatic selection by Team USA due to their performances in the 2019 World Championships and 2021 Diamond League.
In the instance one of those athletes make the top three of their events, the fourth-place finisher will be selected.
Gator Greats Grant Holloway (110mH) and Christian Taylor (Triple Jump), World Champions in Doha in 2019, have their place at this year's World Championships confirmed.
The duo will use the USATF Outdoor Championships as a warmup heading into the world meet this July.
Anna Hall is also qualified through to the World Championships for Team USA after winning the Heptathlon at the USATF Combined Events Championships in early May.

Jasmine Moore is one of two Gators to have already represented the United States at the senior level.
The 2020 Olympian will contest the Long Jump and Triple Jump this weekend. She was the NCAA Champion in both events indoors and outdoors this season.
She represented the United States in the Triple Jump in Tokyo last summer after finishing third at last year's Olympic Trials.
Moore enters the weekend in fine form having won all eight postseason events she's contested this calendar year.
She holds wind-legal season bests of 6.82m/22-4.5 (Long Jump) and 14.32m/46-11.75 (Triple Jump); both recorded within the last two months.
The Grand Prairie, Texas native is joined in the Long Jump by Claire Bryant and Anna Hall.
Bryant was a bronze medalist at the SEC Outdoor Championships and fifth-place finisher at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the Long Jump.
At last summer's Olympic Trials, Bryant was 12th in the Long Jump. She enters this weekend with a season best of 6.73m/22-1.
Hall, already qualified through to the World Championships in the Heptathlon, will contest three events this weekend. Outside of the Long Jump, she is also set to run the 100-meter hurdles and compete in the High Jump.
The Gators will be well represented in the 400 meters on both the men's and women's side.
Leading the charge are NCAA Outdoor and Indoor Champion Talitha Diggs as well as NCAA Outdoor Runner-Up Champion Allison.
2020 Olympian Taylor Manson will also run the open 400 meters this weekend.
Diggs has had a phenomenal season in 2022, capturing the sweep of the 400 meters at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
She ran a season best and personal best of 49.99 to win the NCAA Outdoor Championship across 400 meters. Diggs is one of six athletes in NCAA history to run under 50 seconds in the event.
Diggs is the American leader in the event and ranks No. 4 in the World in the 400 meters heading into this weekend's USATF Outdoor Championships.
Allison had an outstanding season for the Gators in his first year in Gainesville. He was the SEC Indoor and Outdoor Champion at 400 meters and followed that up with a NCAA Outdoor Runner-Up finish in the event.
He owns a season best and personal best of 44.29 which ranks No. 4 in the USA this year and No. 6 in the World.
Manson ran at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and ranks No. 22 in the USA this season with a time of 51.65. She was a bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics last summer after playing a role for the American Mixed 4x400 relay team.
Dedrick Vanover is set to contest the 100 meters this weekend. He was fifth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and owns a season and personal best of 10.10.
Gabrielle Wilkinson was ninth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and will run the 800 meters in Eugene.
Vanessa Watson (400mH) and Jacory Patterson (200m) will also contest individual events at this week's USATF Outdoor Championships.

The USATF Outdoor Championships will be chalk full of Gator Greats this weekend as well.
Holloway (110mH) and Taylor (Triple Jump) have automatic berths to the 2022 World Championships after winning their event at the previous edition of the World Championships in 2019.
They will compete in their respective events this weekend as they gear up for their return trip to Eugene in July.
Cory McGee will run the 1500 meters this weekend. An All-American at Florida, McGee was an Olympian in the event last summer.
Marquis Dendy, the 2015 winner of The Bowerman, will compete in the Long Jump this weekend.
He was an Olympian in the event last summer. Dendy has twice competed at the World Championships and is also a three-time medalist at the World Indoor Championships.
Kyra Jefferson, the former-collegiate record holder and an NCAA Champion over 200 meters, will run in the 400 meters this weekend.
Gator Great Will Claye will contest the Triple Jump this weekend in search of a spot at his sixth-consecutive World Championships.
Claye was a silver medalist in Doha in 2019, one of nine medals across his career at either the Olympic Games, World Championships and World Indoor Championships.
TJ Holmes (400mH) and Avione Allgood-Whetstone (Javelin) will contest individual events this weekend.
