Florida punched their ticket to Seattle after defeating FIU and San Diego at home during ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Gators are among 15 other teams to compete for the Indoor Championship in Washington.

SEATLLE, WA. βΒ The Gators will be traveling to Seattle, Washington to compete in the ITA Indoor Nationals this weekend. Florida punched their ticket into the bracket after hosting and defeating FIU 4-2 and San Diego 4-3 during ITA Kickoff Weekend.
Florida is set to face Stanford in the first round of the weekend. Stanford currently sits at the No. 2 spot and has one player ranked in the top 15 for singles: No.12 Connie Ma. Overall Stanford is 5-0 going undefeated with wins over San Diego (5-2), Texas A&M (4-3), UC Davis (7-0), Colorado (4-1), and Maryland (4-0) in their last time out.
Having both defeated San Diego, this first round should be nothing short of action-packed. Stanford took down San Diego 5-2, snagging the doubles point and nearly sweeping in singles. In the Gators appearance versus San Diego, Florida earned the doubles point but got off to aΒ relatovely slow start in singles allowing San Diego to take a 3-1 lead. Alicia Dudeney, Rachel Gailis, and Carly Briggs brought the win home for the Gators, with the determining match landing in the hands of Briggs after Gailis and Dudeney closedΒ in on the scoring gap. Briggs came out on top winning 7-6, 6-1 after falling 7-6 in the first set.

LAST TIME OUT
The Gators will enter this match 4-1, falling to Michigan after a 4-1 loss on Feb. 6. The Gators have notched wins against following wins against Baylor (6-1), FIU (4-2), No.20 San Diego (4-3), and Florida State (4-2).
