TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Gators Track & Field program had eight athletes participate in the first day of competition at the FSU Relays. All eight competitors participated in field events as the Gators had entries in the men's and women's hammer throw and long jump as well as the women's shot put.

ALTERING THE RECORD BOOKS
Will Gross IV began the day for the Gators with the No. 6 mark on Florida's All-Time Top 10 List in the Men's Hammer Throw. His mark of 66.61m/218'6" is also No. 6 in the NCAA in 2024, less than a meter short of his personal record and placed him first in the event.

TOP COLLEGIATE FINISH BY CHARLTON
Making her 2024 outdoor debut, Anthaya Charlton finished as the top collegian in the women's long jump as she posted a best jump of 6.38m/20'11.25".

LET'S GET PERSONAL
India Alix, Kendall Brown and Gracelyn Leiseth recorded various forms of personal records in Thursday's action. Alix, a freshman from Houston, Texas, set an outdoor personal best with a leap of 5.77m/18'11.25" which placed her eighth in the women's long jump. Brown, also participating in the women's long jump, achieved a mark of 5.72m/18'9.25" which was an overall personal record. This surpassed her indoor PR of 5.55m/18'2.5" by 0.17m. Leiseth also notched an outdoor personal record in the women's shot put with a throw of 15.81m/51'10.5" which placed her third overall.
