The Gators end their weekend on the road with a match against Mizzou
COLUMBIA, MO. — No.12 Florida will be closing out their weekend in Columbia, Missouri. The Gators are set to face Mizzou on Sunday morning at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Doubles will open at 11 a.m. followed by singles play. Florida is hoping to extend their win streak to 5 after defeating Arkansas 6-1 on Friday.
GATOR SUCCESS
No. 15 Rachel Gailis (11-3, 6-1 SEC) has recorded the most victories against nationally ranked opponents so far. Gailis has posted three top-30 victories against No. 29 Dasha Vidmanova, No. 27 Sofia Cabezas and highly ranked No. 14 Carolyn Ansari. Gailis is hoping to continue dominating in singles action and looks to extend her five-match win streak against Missouri.
Freshman powerhouse, Qavia Lopez (9-2, 5-1 SEC) snagged her fifth win of the spring season against Arkansas putting her on a three-match win streak. Lopez's impressive performance in singles play opened the door for her to notch a national ranking by the ITA and SEC Freshman of the Week. Despite not yet seeing any ranked players, Qavia sits at No.109.
No. 52 Sara Dahlstrom ended her undefeated streak on Friday. Dahlstrom moved to 4-1 in the SEC and 5-4 overall. Dahlstrom also has two top-30 wins after she defeated No. 29 Mia Kupres from Texas A&M and defeated Georgia's Alexandra Vecic ranked at No. 25 earlier in the season.
On the doubles side, undefeated duo Carly Briggs and Qavia Lopez recorded their third win of the spring season. The duo is now 3-0 after defeating Arkansas' Lenka Stara and Grace O'Donnell.
Alicia Dudeney and Malwina Rowinska posted their second doubles win as a pair on Friday evening after securing the doubles point for the Gators and moved to 2-0.
ABOUT MISSOURI
Ahead of Sunday's match, Mizzou is unranked and has gone winless in conference action. The Tigers only have one ranked player in singles and one ranked doubles team. Mae Canete sits at No. 117 with a 14-7 overall record and 2-2 in conference play. Canete is also one half of the doubles pair with Christine Canete and sits at No. 53 posting a 16-9 overall record and only recording one win in the regular season.

The Gators defeated Arkansas in Razorback territory on Friday evening. The 6-1 victory extended Florida's win streak to 4 and gave two doubles teams the undefeated title.
UF snagged the doubles point with duo Carly Briggs/ Qavia Lopez taking the first win on Court 2 against Lenka Stara and Grace O'Donnell 6-1. Alicia Dudeney and Malwina Rowinska followed securing the point for the Gators with a 7-5 win against No.31 Morgan Cross / Anet Koskel.
Moving into singles action 1-0, Florida kept their momentum going. Malwina Rowkinska snagged the first singles win against Grace O'Donnell in a 6-0, 6-1 straight set victory. Rowinska extended the Gators lead to 2-0.
No. 84 Carly Briggs recorded the next point for the Gators with a straight set victory of her own. Briggs defeated Morgan Cross 6-3, 6-0 on Court 3 and extended Florida's lead to 3-0.
Over on Court 1, Rachel Gailis defeated No. 31 Carolina Gomez 6-4, 6-1 to secure the fourth point for UF.
SEC Freshman of the Week No. 109 Qavia Lopez secured her victory against Kacie Harvey in straight sets. Lopez took the first set 6-1, but Harvey fought hard in the second. Lopez got it done at 7-5 to extend the lead 5-0.
Although the match was secured after Gailis snagged the fourth point, both teams decided to finish it out. Kelly Keller defeated Sara Dahlstrom 6-2, 3-6,
(10-7) on Court 5 ending her win streak and moving her to a 4-1 conference record. Alicia Dudeney was the last Gator standing on Court 4. Dudeney faced Lenka Stara and dropped the first set 6-4. She continued to fight, taking the second set 6-3 and forced a 10-point match tiebreaker. The tiebreaker ended in Dudeney's favor as she defeated Lenka Stara 10-6 and closed the match with a 6-1 win for the Gators.
