Gators Set to Host First of Three Home Meets: Pepsi Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators Track & Field program hosts the first of three home meets in 2024 this weekend as they prepare for the Pepsi Florida Relays on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30.
Pepsi Florida Relays will feature collegiate, high school and professional athletes. Colleges that are in attendance include, but are not limited to, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Harvard, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Miami, Missouri, Nebraska, South Carolina, Southern California, Vanderbilt.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gators most recently competed in the FSU Relays where athletes totaled twelve top three finishes and fifteen personal records. Additionally, Gator throwers Will Gross IV and Abraham Sargent earned marks in their respective events that landed them in the UF All-Time Top 10 List.
Gross IV, participating in the hammer throw, recorded a toss of 66.61m/218'6" which was less than a meter short of his personal best but landed him at No. 6 on Florida's All-Time Top 10 List. Sargent now stands at No. 5 on UF's All-Time Javelin Throw Top 10 List with a mark of 72.46m/237'9".
Other Gators that recorded personal records include India Alix, Caroline Bauer, Kendall Brown, Orlando Cicilioni, Da'Moni Kelly, Gracelyn Leiseth, Logan Montgomery, Joey Stravato, Melanie Welsing and Liina Winborn.
ON THE TRACK & IN THE FIELD
Florida has entered 61 athletes for the weekend's events. Many athletes will be making their 2024 Outdoor debut while others continue their season after competing last weekend.

Tickets for the 2024 Pepsi Florida Relays can now be purchased by clicking here. Single-day tickets are $7 and all-session passes for both days are $12. All tickets are general admission. Tickets will also be available at the box office on meet day.
