
No. 23 Gators Open Women's Tennis Spring Season Saturday at Charleston Southern

Charleston, S.C. — The No. 23 Florida Women's Tennis Team travels to Charleston Southern to open its 2026 spring season this Saturday, Jan 17. Matches begin at CSU's Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center at 1 p.m. EST (Live Stats).
The Gators are ranked No. 23 in the nation to start the year—one of nine SEC schools ranked in the top 25 by the ITA. Sophomore Gabia Paskauskas finished the fall season ranked No. 11 in the country, while senior Xinyi Nong was 86th, sophomore Nikola Daubnerova was 105th, and junior Valery Gynina was 118th. Daubnerova and Nong completed fall doubles play ranked 17th in the nation.
Charleston Southern won the Big South Championship a year ago, and are predicted to repeat this year in preseason polling released Thursday. Bucs senior Marina Skegro was named the conference's preseason player of the year.
