
Gators Set for a Trio of States in Last Regular Season Meeting

Florida will split its squad across three various meets to continue the indoor season
GAINESVILLE, Fla.– The Florida Gators Track and Field teams will split across three separate meets, as athletes prepare for the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass. and the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash.
LAST TIME OUT
Two weeks prior to this weekend's upcoming action, the Florida Gators participated in the Razorback Invitational where 11 athletes broke into the program's all-time top-10 lists across various events.
The men's realm was highlighted by the distance crew, with a new sub-4 minute miler in Riley Smith, who now holds steady at No. 3 in the program record and Kelvin Cheruiyot who smashed a 34 year school record by over 11 seconds in the men's 3000m, posting a 7:47.45 to secure the No. 1 time in program history.
On the women's side, sophomore jumper Asia Phillips made her long jump debut, setting her first collegiate mark at 6.33m / 20'9.25". Additionally, the women's DMR team found their way into the No.4 slot on the program record books, boasting a 10:55.88 and a fifth place finish.
WHO IS COMPETING
The Gators will send 41 athletes (21 men, 20 women) to Arkansas while sending 11 (four men, seven women) to Boston for this weekends' meet. Cheruiyot will represent the Orange and Blue in Seattle in the men's 5k invitational. Meet information and Gator entries are displayed below in time order.
