AS A JUNIOR (2014): Played in 59 games and started a total of 56 games at three different positions (35 in right field, 13 at first base, eight at catcher)… Ranked third on the Gators with a .270 batting average, with 28 RBI, 28 runs, 22 walks, five doubles, five stolen bases and one homer… Was 5-for-6 on the basepaths and was second on the squad with six sacrifice flies… Hit .250 in 27 SEC games, all starts, with 11 RBI, 11 runs and eight walks… Batted .357 (5-for-14) in five outings at the SEC Tournament, notching a hit in each contest… Drew two walks and scored twice as the Gators ousted No. 22 Mississippi State from Hoover… Had a sacrifice fly in the opening-round matchup with Kentucky… Scored three runs in the series at Tennessee… Batted .333 (3-for-9) in the sweep of Georgia… Tied career high with three hits in the finale at No. 4 South Carolina, including an RBI single in the third inning… Walked and scored twice in the 8-0 shutout of No. 1 Florida State in Tallahassee… Went 2-for-3 with a career-best three runs as the Orange and Blue completed a sweep of No. 4 LSU at McKethan Stadium… Hit .308 (4-for-13) in his return to the Lone Star State at Texas A&M, highlighted by the go-ahead RBI single in the 11th inning of the opener that brought home Casey Turgeon… Also had three hits in the rubber game on Sunday… Started SEC action by going 5-for-10 (.500) in the series win over Arkansas… Blasted a two-run homer against Illinois State for his lone round-tripper of the campaign and was 2-for-4 in the victory… Delivered RBI singles in both the sixth and seventh innings and was 3-for-4 to down Southern Miss, 4-2, in Pensacola… All three of his hits at No. 17 Miami (FL) were doubles and he was 3-for-10 (.300) on the weekend in Coral Gables… Was a combined 4-for-7 (.571) with three RBI in mid-week wins over UCF and North Florida… Mattson’s first hit as a Gator was a pinch-hit RBI single in the second game of the season against Maryland.

AT SAN JACINTO (2013): Hit .281 in 47 games for head coach Tom Arrington at San Jacinto in ‘13… The Gators finished as the Region XIV South Zone Champion with a 35-21 overall record and were 22-8 in Region XIV play… Drove in 28 RBI, with 24 runs, seven doubles, three homers and a pair of triples, to go along with a .401 slugging percentage and a .328 on-base percentage… Set a single-season team record with 316 putouts and had a fielding clip of .992… Mattson was third on the squad in conference action with a .333 batting average… Totaled 23 RBI, scored 20 runs, roped four doubles, belted three homers and had two triples… Boasted a .486 slugging percentage and a .380 on-base percentage in 30 games… Also participated in the 2012 Texas-New Mexico Junior College All-Star Game in the fall of 2012.

AT TCU (2012): Saw action in 27 games, with 14 starts, as a freshman at TCU… Batted .190 with seven RBI, five runs, three doubles and a triple… Registered a perfect fielding percentage in 162 chances, making 158 putouts and collecting four assists… Was part of 10 double plays.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year catcher for head coach Aldo Velazquez at Clark High School… Earned all-district honors three times... Selected as an all-region performer as a senior... Named all-area as a junior and senior...Was ranked by Baseball America as the No. 67 prospect in Texas coming out of high school… Mattson was named to the Texas All-Region First Team by Rawlings/Perfect Game prior to his senior year in 2011… Batted .383 with 32 RBI, nine doubles and five home runs as a junior… Totaled 21 homers in his prep career.
