Biography

STORYLINE: Shealy returns for his senior season after hitting 16 home runs in 114 career games played. A former fifth round selection by the Colorado Rockies in the 1998 MLB draft, Shealy is an athletic powerhitting first baseman who is looking forward to a big season in 2002.
2001: Played in 43 and started 41 games (30 at 1B, 11 at DH)...Went on 19-game hit streak from 2/10-3/17...Hit .373 (19-51) with four home runs and team-leading 16 RBI and .686 slugging percentage in February...Has 11-multi hit games and eight multi-RBI games...Hit home run and finished with two RBI vs. Arkansas, 3/25...Hit three home runs in first four games of the season...Went 2-5 with two RBI vs. Central Michigan, 3/3/01...Hit home run to straightaway centerfield, went 2-4 with two RBI vs. Jacksonville, 2/28...Registered first career triple and went 2-4 vs. Winthrop, 2/20...Went 3-4, scored four runs, hit career-high two home runs and matched career-high with six RBI vs. Savannah State, 2/7...Saw first action in 34 consecutive games in start vs. Miami, 2/3.
