Biography

LaToya Bullard was expected to make an immediate impact on the court … the highest rated member of the Gators’ 2005-06 heralded freshmen class, but injuries forced her to withdraw from school in September 2005 to focus on rehabilitation … returned to UF and trained and conditioned in Gainesville in addition to completing classes during the 2006 Summer B session.

Freshman Year (2006-07)
Left UF following the game against Alabama State on Dec. 28 … transferred to Memphis in January of 2007 … appeared in each of UF’s first 11 games, earning two starts … scored in 10 of those games … averaged 19.5 minutes … contributed 5.3 points, ranking fourth on the team … sidelined for the Louisville (Dec. 21) and Alabama State (Dec. 28) games because of injury … earned first collegiate start on Dec. 8 versus TCU … sprained her right (shooting hand) thumb during the game against IUPUI (Nov. 21), but it didn’t prevent her in UF’s next outing when she scored a team and career-high 18 points versus FSU (Nov. 24) … first collegiate field goal was a nifty scoop layin after driving in the lane with 10:23 remaining in the first half of the season-opener against North Florida … one double-figure scoring game.

High School
Graduated in June of 2005 from Craigmont High School, where she was coached by Timothy Anderson … her high school jersey No. 23 was retired … rated No. 16 in the 2005 class by Full Court Press … finalist for the 2005 McDonald’s All-American game … voted 2005 Associated Press All-State Class AAA First Team … named TSWA 2005 All-State first team … averaged 20 points with nine assists and five steals per game during her senior year at Craigmont, helping the Lady Chiefs to a 31-7 record and advancing to the Class AAA sectionals after winning the 16-AAA and Region 8-AAA tournament titles … runner-up for the 2005 Class AAA Tennessee Miss Basketball, presented by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) … team captain every season at CHS … guided the Lady Chiefs her junior year to a 34-4 record and advanced the final of the Tennessee Class AAA state championship, averaging 19.9 points, 10.6 assists, 5.6 steals and 5.4 rebounds ... named to the 2004 Class AAA All-State Tournament Team … a Street & Smith Honorable Mention All-American in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 … earned USA Today Sophomore All-America honors after averaging 21 points, eight assists and 5.5 steals per game ... member of the 2004 USA Youth Development Festival South Team … listed as the ‘Best of the Preps’ in 2004 by the Memphis Commercial Appeal, also being one of five players recognized again in 2005 … an Orlando Sentinel Associated Press All-State First Team selection in 2004 and 2005 and a Second Team honoree in 2003 ... named an adidas Top Ten Camp Upperclass All-Star in 2004 ... an All-Metro First Team selection every year since the eighth grade ... rated No. 48 in Blue Star’s listing of the Top 100 seniors … also starred with the AAU team Memphis Waves coached by her father, helping the team win the 2002 AAU 12 & Under National Championship … the honor roll student had many interests outside of basketball, competing in softball and track during the hoops off-season.
