National/International Competition
Competed in the 100 & 200 breast events at the 2009 FINA World Championships for Venezuela in summer 2009… Placed 47th in the 200-meter breast (2:37.75) and 57th in prelims of the 100-meter breast at 2009 Worlds (1:11.70)… Member of the Venezuela National Team … Participated in the 2007 and 2006 Long Course World Junior Championships … Participated in the 2007 Pan Am Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil … Placed second in the South American Championships in the 100 breast.
At Florida
2008-09: A breaststroker who swam 11 meets for the Gators her freshman season… Had a stellar meet at the 2008 Princeton Big Al Invitational where she placed fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.67), a season-best mark… Additionally finished sixth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.53) and 100 breast (1:03.61)… Swam on the first place 400-yard medley relay in Princeton, the second place 200-yard medley relay, and the 400-yard free relay that placed fourth at the invite… Finished third in the 100-yard breast against Tennessee with a season-best time (1:02.35) and was Florida’s highest finisher in the event against the Vols… Also took fourth in the 200-yard breast against UT (2:17.28)… Placed fifth in the 200 breast against SEC rival Georgia (2:21.29)… Took second in both the 100 breast (1:05.97) and 200 breast (2:21.95) as UF’s top scorer in the events in the win over South Carolina… Swept both the 100 & 200 breast against Florida Atlantic… Finished the conference dual meet season strong when she rallied for third in the 100 breast in the dual meet match-up with rival Auburn.
