GATOR MEN'S TENNIS POSTS 7-0 WIN OVER GEORGIA STATE

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The fifth-ranked University of Florida men's tennis team (2-0) posted a 7-0 win over Georgia State (2-1) Tuesday afternoon at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex.
The Gators took the doubles point with victories at all three doubles spots. Freshmen Matt Behrmann and Troy Hahn teamed for an 8-1 win at number three and juniors Jeff Morrison and Nathan Overholser rallied from a 4-1 deficit to take an 8-5 victory at number one and clinch the point. Junior Marcos Asse and senior Justin O'Neal closed out the doubles with an 8-4 win at number two. The doubles win was the 70th of O'Neal's career, moving him past former Gator Amr El Sawaf (69 from 1995-99) into fourth place all-time in UF history.
In singles play O'Neal quickly downed Mitja Pavlinic, 6-2, 6-2 for his 15th win of the year, giving UF a 2-0 lead. The Gator lead was extended to 3-0 when senior Trey Adcock beat Tadej Senk at number four as Senk was forced to retire in the final set. Adcock led 4-6, 6-1, 2-0 when the match ended. Morrison then clinched the UF win with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at number one singles over Nick Brochu, his first clinching win of the year. Other singles winners for UF included Hahn at number six, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 over Carl Lumsden, Overholser at number three, 7-5, 7-6 (15-13) over Pablo Perez Gras and Behrmann at number five over Frank Huot (6-4, 3-6, 7-5).
Florida will next be in action this Saturday, Feb. 12 when it hosts Furman at 1:00 p.m. at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex.
