GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The University of Florida women's swimming and diving teams will open up the 2016 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships tomorrow night inside the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta. The meet will take place on the host-site Georgia Tech's campus.
There, a total of 322 participants (281 swimmers and 41 divers) will compete in the championships. Swimmers qualified for the championships by meeting the pre-established times for the events in which they entered while divers competed at a regional zone diving competition where they were required to place among the top tier in each event.
Twelve Gator women will compete through four days and seven sessions of competition, starting on Wed., March 16, and concluding on Sat., March 19. Year-in and year-out, the NCAA Championships hold up as arguably the fastest short-course meet on American soil and the 2016 field will be no different.
