The Gators notched a 9-5 victory over the Knights on Tuesday night.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After a five-game road trip, No. 1 Florida (8-1) returns to the friendly confines of McKethan Stadium on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for the back end of its home-and-home series with UCF (6-3). The Gators picked up a 9-5 victory over the Knights at Jay Bergman Field on Tuesday night.

DRAWING THE START
Right-hander Jackson Kowar (0-0, 6.00) will make his collegiate starting debut and will oppose UCF junior RHP Trent Thompson (0-0, 2.45). Kowar has made two relief appearances spanning three innings and has five strikeouts and one walk. He made his debut in the finale against FGCU on Feb. 21 (1.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 K) and then pitched last Wednesday night in Lakeland versus Eastern Michigan (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 3 K, 1 BB).

Sophomore Jeremy Vasquez drove in a career-high three runs for the Gators, sophomore left-hander Nick Horvath (1-0) earned his first win with a career-long stint of 2.2 innings in which he yielded one hit and one run and junior Frank Rubio worked three effective innings to collect the save. UF totaled 14 hits against six UCF pitchers, with sophomore Dalton Guthrie, freshman Jonathan India and junior Buddy Reed chipping in with three apiece. India (3-for-5) scored twice and connected on his first homer in the seventh inning.
