
Gators punch their ticket into multiple finals matches

ATLANTA – After the fourth day of competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championship the Gators know they will be represented in a doubles final for the third consecutive tournament of the season, and the third straight at the regional championship.
The duo of Oliver Crawford and Chase Perez-Blanco punched their ticket to the main draw final after earning two wins on Monday. The pair of Gators started doubles competition with an upset over No. 3 Walker Duncan and Wayne Montogmery of the University of Georgia, 8-3. Crawford and Perez-Blanco advanced to the finals after the pair of Linus Bergevi and Colter Decoste walked over, giving the match to the Gators and putting a team in the finals.
The second doubles pair remaining for the Gators is Andy Andrade and McClain Kessler. Andrade and Kessler also secured an upset victory in the quarterfinals with a win over No. 4 Peter Bertran and Alberto Barroso-Campos of South Florida, 8-4. Andrade and Kessler will compete in their semifinal match tomorrow at 9 a.m. against No. 1 Robert Loeb and Jan Zielinski of Georgia
In the consolation draw Andrade is the only Gator left standing after a hard fought day on the courts. Andrade defeated Feliepe Ramirez of Florida Gulf Coast 6-1, 6-3 to punch his ticket to the consolation draw finals that will be played Tuesday at 11 a.m. He will take on Jose Garcia of Florida State for the title.
Jordan Belga and Stephen Madonia each had their Regional Tournament come to an end on Tuesday after both fell in the quarterfinals. Belga lost to Jose Garcia of Florida State 7-6(4), 6-1 and Madonia fell to Alex Phillips of Georgia 7-6(3), 6-1.
