Gators Ready for Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

Seniors Brooke Austin and Peggy Porter begin action in the qualifying draws
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – All four Gator seniors will travel to California to compete at the prestigious Riviera/ITA All-American Championships held at the Riviera Tennis Club for the 33rd consecutive year.
Senior Brooke Austin will begin singles and doubles action in the qualifying portion of the event, pairing with fellow senior Peggy Porter on the doubles court.
Qualifying singles and doubles are set for October 3-4, with the main draw running from October 5-8.
Austin will play Arkansas' No. 36-ranked Ana Oparenovic in the first round on Tuesday, while the Gator pair drew Texas Tech's No. 2-seeded and No. 21-ranked Felicity Maltby and Gabriela Talaba in the opening round.
There will be two rounds of singles and one round of doubles action on Tuesday, followed by one round of singles and two doubles rounds Wednesday.

- In the 64-player qualifying singles draw, the eight players who win three rounds advance to the main draw. There is a consolation draw for first-round losers.
- In the 32-team qualifying doubles draw, four will advance to the main draw.

- In addition to vying for the All-American national title, players will be competing to secure a berth into the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which takes place November 1-5, in Palm Desert, California.
