Gator Quotes
"I thought we came out and played really well in the doubles. It was great having Alfredo [Perez] out there since has been out through the whole fall and for him to come back and get on the court, it was great. He wasn't at his best, that's going to come with time. But the other two teams played outstanding, made very few unforced errors, played aggressively and executed. So really pleased with the doubles. Then in singles, we had a few guys that were super solid out there and others that were up and down a little bit. It was a mixed bag, but overall I was pleased. Our intensity was great. We made a few too many unforced errors in some spots that made some of the sets tough. But
Sam Riffice came out and played just lights out. He hardly missed a ball, which was great for his very first dual match representing the Gators. He did a fantastic job today, so he really couldn't have gotten off to a better start in his college career. I thought we were really good on Johannes' [Ingildsen] court. He just didn't miss. The guy couldn't find any answers because Joe just made no unforced errors. We've got to do a better job in some of the other spots just being a little bit more consistent, but its match one, so our expectations are that we go out there and compete hard and they did that." – Head Coach
Bryan Shelton
"Doubles felt really great. Oliver [Crawford] is a really fun partner to play with. He brings a lot of energy and he's got a lot of weapons to work with. He helped carry me in my first doubles match. I felt really solid with my serve and my returns. I think I made almost every first serve and a lot of returns. Singles was a lot of fun, playing in that environment. I was playing really solid and won a lot of key points and played with a lot of momentum and the crowd was great today." – Freshman
