ITA National Fall Championships Draws

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – The Gators fought hard to keep their run in the consolation doubles draw alive at ITA National Fall Championships, however, Ingildsen and Berdusco would come up short in a super tiebreaker to bring their fall season to an end in Newport Beach on Friday. The Gators' No. 4 nationally-ranked duo would meet Denver's Matt Summers and James Davis, who downed Middle Tennessee State's Pavel Motl and Stijn Slump in their consolation quarterfinals matchup.

Ingildsen and Berdusco came out to possess a 3-1 lead early in the first set, as the Gators continued their dominance, taking three of the next four games to notch the 6-2 decision to put them ahead early on. Summers and Davis then retaliated strong in the second set, taking the frame with a decisive 6-3 effort. Forcing the super tiebreaker, Summers and Davis kept the momentum rolling to move past Ingildsen and Berdusco in the consolation quarterfinals, 2-6, 6-3, 10-3.

Summers and Davis go on to face Michigan's No. 50 Andrew Fenty and Mattias Siimar in Saturday's finals.

The loss officially concludes the fall season for the Gators, as Ingildsen and Berdusco close out the fall slate with an even 5-5 record together in doubles action this fall.
