
Gators to Host Pair of Top-35 SEC Teams

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida will be back at home to host another set of elite SEC teams this weekend beginning with No. 32 LSU on Friday at 5 p.m. ET at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
Then on Sunday, the No. 2 Gators and the No. 7 Aggies will take the court at Noon and compete for the top-spot in the SEC. Both teams are undefeated in conference play with five matches remaining and are riding impressive winning streaks. Florida enters the weekend having won its last nine matches, while Texas A&M hasn't lost in 13 matches and also holds a 20-match winning streak in SEC play, which dates back to 2017.
Florida has won 41 of its last 45 matches at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex dating back to 2016, with a perfect 7-0 record to start the spring campaign.
The Gators are in the midst of 17-straight matches against ITA Top-50 teams and has not started SEC play 8-0 or better in 14 years. In 2005, Florida started SEC play 11-0 and finished as regular season conference champions, with only one loss.
Florida holds a 70-21 mark in dual singles matches and is 20-15 over nationally ranked individuals. The bottom of the Gators lineup continues to pull through in singles, winning 50 of its 59 matches. Sam Riffice, who earned SEC Freshman of the Week for his performances last week, holds an impressive 7-0 SEC record and has won nine straight matches. Sophomore Duarte Vale is also undefeated in SEC play and is in the midst of six-match winning streak.
In the 2019 SEC Preseason Coaches' Poll, Florida was selected to win the conference. Texas A&M, the 2018 SEC Champions, was chosen to finish fourth, while LSU 12th.

Parking: With home events for both Track and Baseball on Friday, fans are encouraged to check for parking at the UF Law School or along fraternity row. Starting on Friday at 4:30 p.m. through one hour after the conclusion of the Florida-Alabama baseball game, a complimentary shuttle will pick up fans parked at the Garage IX (9) on the corner of Archer Road and Gale Lemerand Drive. The shuttle drops off at the right field baseball ticket office.
Scouting the Tigers
LSU sits at No. 32 in the recent Oracle/ITA rankings. It has opened SEC play 2-4 with wins over Auburn and Arkansas. The Tigers are a 27-15 in dual doubles, while in singles they sit at 36-10 at the No. 4-6 positions and 27-21 at the top of the lineup. Rafael Wagner and Joey Thomas (No. 51 doubles) make up the only ranked individuals on LSU's squad.

The Aggies are a perfect 6-0 in conference play and are riding a 13-match winning streak, which includes a victory over No. 1 Ohio State. Texas A&M defeated Florida three times last season, outscoring the Gators 14-4. In the last meeting, Texas A&M advanced the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament with 4-3 victory over Florida in Chapel Hill, N.C. In singles, four Aggies are ranked, led by No 32 Valentin Vacherot, No. 62 Hady Habib, No. 76 Barnaby Smith and No. 77 Carlos Aguilar rounds out A&M's ranked individuals. In doubles, Aguilar and Smith team up to form the nation's 23rd-ranked duo.
