Oracle/ITA Top 25 | USTA Top 25 | ITA Individual | ITA Doubles
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced its weekly top-25 national rankings on Wednesday, as the Gators checked in at No. 3 in the nation by the ITA, while also being ranked No. 4 in the nation in the USTA's latest rankings.
The Gators received three votes for the top spot, though, USC claimed this week's No. 1 ranking, followed by Ohio State at No. 2 with four votes in the Oracle/ITA Top 25. On the other hand, UNC claimed the top spot in the USTA Top 25 while Ohio State (No. 2), Texas (No. 3) and Florida followed.
In addition to the Oracle/ITA Top 25, the ITA also announced its updated Individual and Doubles rankings for the season thus far, as five Gators were listed among the Individual top 125 and three doubles tandems were named among the Doubles top 60.
Sophomore
Sam Riffice remained in the individual top five, at the No. 4 spot, as Riffice is currently the highest ranked American college tennis player in the nation with a 4-1 dual record on the year thus far. Junior
Duarte Vale vaulted up six spots to reach a career-high ranking of No. 11 in the nation, with a team-leading 6-1 dual record, while classmate
Oliver Crawford slid into the top 25, at No. 23, with a 2-1 mark up to this point. Sophomore
Lukas Greif slid down to No. 90 to remain in the top 100, while first-year
Blaise Bicknell notched a career-high ranking of No. 112 upon his flawless start to the year at 4-0 in singles.
In the Doubles top 60, Crawford and Riffice moved up one spot to reach a career-high ranking of No. 13 with a perfect 4-0 record on the season at No. 1 doubles. The Gators' No. 2 tandem of
Johannes Ingildsen and freshman
Will Grant entered the top 25 for the first time this season, checking in at No. 24 in the nation upon a 5-1 record, while Ingildsen and Berdusco dropped from their previous preseason ranking of No. 18 to No. 57 due to the lack of matches played together this spring.
The Gators prepare for their first road trip of the dual season, as No. 3 Florida travels north to face Illinois in Urbana, Ill. on Friday, Feb. 7, for a 5 p.m. ET matchup. UF will then travel to West Lafayette, Ind. to face Purdue on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m. to close out its weekend slate with Big Ten opponents ahead of next week's National Team Indoor Championships.
