No. 10 Florida to Host Baylor on Saturday Afternoon

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 9 ranked Gators will make their first home appearance of the spring season on Saturday afternoon. Florida will host the Baylor Bears at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex. Doubles action is set to start at 1:00 p.m. and after a short break singles will follow.
The Gators lead 8-0 in the all-time series against the Bears. The most recent face-off between the two teams dates back to Feb. 5, 2023, where the Orange and Blue claimed the doubles point and followed up with five single wins for a 6-1 victory.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gators began their 2024 spring season in Las Vegas, grabbing multiple wins in both the singles and doubles categories. After three days, Florida totaled seven singles and four doubles wins. Carly Briggs led the way for Florida in singles with two wins, defeating opponents from UCLA and UNLV. Malwina Rowinska, Sara Dahlstrom, Bente Spee, Qavia Lopez and Alicia Dudeney also picked up singles wins at the Freeman Memorial.
On the doubles side, Sara Dahlstrom and Sophie Williams were paired up for the first time this season. The duo went on to defeat Aura Fang/Nikol Mircheva of UNLV (6-3), and Nikki Redelijk/Vivian Yang of Pepperdine (6-1). Freshman pair Malwina Rowniska/Qavia Lopez and returners Alicia Dudeney/Bente Spee also recorded wins as well.

Florida finds itself ranked No. 9 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. Three Gators are ranked in singles competition: Emily De Oliveria at No. 23, Carly Briggs at No. 38, and Rachel Gailis sitting at No. 63.
On the doubles side, Malwina Rowinska/ Qavia Lopez are ranked at No. 38 and Bente Spee/Sara Dahlstrom sit at No. 55.
