Florida Takes on Mississippi State in Saturday Showdown

The Gators will compete in their fourth consecutive match on the road on Saturday afternoon
STARKVILLE, Miss.β The Gators head to Starkville to face the Bulldogs on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET, at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre. The contest closes out March play and is fourth straight match UF has played on the road.
Florida enters the match with an 12-7 overall record and 6-3 in conference play. The Gators last outing was a 5-2 victory over LSU in Baton Rouge. UF secured the doubles point and took courts five, one, two, and three to solidify the win.
In doubles, Β Jeremy JinΒ andΒ Adhithya GanesanΒ took court two with a 6-1 victory over Julien Penzlin and Enzo Kohlmann . . Kevin Edengren and Ben Weintraub sealed the point for the Gators after recording a 6-4 win over Brock Anderson and Alessio Vasquez.
EdengrenΒ logged the first singles point for the Orange and Blue cruising to a 6-1, 6-3 win on court five.Β Ganesan also picked up a point for UF, winning this match in a three-set 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 effort. No. 65 Jin was next to earn a win, defeating Penzlin 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 and was followed by JanMagnus JohnsonΒ securing his 11th singles win over Sasa Markovic 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 6-0.
The Bulldogs enter Saturday's match with a 16-4 overall record and 6-3 in conference action. MSU's last outing was a 7-0 win against Arkansas. The Bulldogs have four ranked singles players: No. 38 Benito Sanchez Martinez, No. 95 Mario Martinez Serrano, No. 100 Petar Jovanovic, and No. 117 Niccolo Baroni. In doubles, MSU features the fourth ranked duo in the country Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez. Niccolo Baroni and Mario Martinez Serrano is the second ranked pair for MSU, sitting at No. 39
