Gators Back on Road for Weekend Matches at Tennessee and Kentucky

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– Florida is back on the road this weekend and will face No. 6 Tennessee and No. 46 Kentucky. The Gators will see the Volunteers on Friday at 5 p.m. ET, and then battle the Wildcats on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

GATORS LAST TIME OUT
Florida last played at No. 10 Oklahoma and fell 4-0 to the highly talented Sooners. UF struggled to overcome Oklahoma's depth and home-court advantage on Sunday, making it a challenging trip to Norman. OU quickly secured the doubles point, and Florida's uphill battle continued in singles play with a default win on court six and straight-set losses on courts five and four.
Now 8-9 overall and 4-7 in SEC play, Florida continues to battle through injuries, showcasing resilience but facing ongoing challenges in a tough season.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS:
The Volunteers are in search of their ninth conference win after falling 4-1 to No. 2 Texas A&M. As a team Tennessee boasts a No. 6 ITA team ranking, and has three players ranked in singles play: No. 7 Elza Tomase, No. 34 Catherine Aulia, and No. 69 Leyla Britez Risso. In doubles, there are five pairs representing the Vols: No. 38 Aulia and Risso, No. 50 Tomase and Maeve Thornton, No. 52 Tomase and Yan, No. 54 Tomase and Aulia, and No. 74 Vanesa Suarez and Thornton.
Ahead of Friday's match, Kentucky holds a 9-10 overall record and is 3-8 in conference action. The Wildcats last match was a 4-2 loss to Texas, marking their second straight loss before entering the Swamp. Kentucky is ranked No. 46 in the ITA team rankings and has two ranked singles players, No. 60 Julia Zhu and No. 65 Zoe Hammond. Pair Elizabeth Eades and Elizabeth Stevens is the only ranked duo for the Wildcats, sitting at No. 80.
