AS A FRESHMAN (2013): Had a 2-0 record with a 4.35 earned run average in 18 appearances, all in relief… Over 20.2 innings of action, the lefty registered 13 strikeouts and issued seven walks… Compiled a 3.27 ERA in 10 SEC outings spanning 11 innings, with seven strikeouts and just one walk… Did not permit any runs over his final six appearances of the season… Fanned the only batter he faced in the second meeting with Georgia… Tossed a scoreless frame with a K in the series finale at No. 3 LSU… Totaled a pair of punch-outs over 1.1 scoreless innings in the opener against Tennessee… Worked 3.1 innings in two games of action at Missouri… Kept No. 2 Vanderbilt off of the scoreboard in his league debut… Picked up the victory at UCF by going 3.1 innings (5 H, 2 R)… Claimed his collegiate debut and notched the Gators’ first win of the season with 3.2 innings of scoreless ball versus Duke in which he allowed two hits and had a couple of strikeouts.

HIGH SCHOOL: Left-handed pitcher from West Boca High School who played for head coach Brian Joros… Went 4-4 with a 1.47 ERA, a pair of complete games, one shutout and totaled 52 strikeouts in 43 innings in 2012… Ranked in the top 500 by Perfect Game, No. 78 in the state of Florida and No. 11 among left-handers… Chosen as a High Honorable Mention Preseason All-American and to Rawlings’ Preseason Florida All-Region Second Team by Perfect Game prior to his senior year… As a junior, he fired a five-hit shutout to defeat Lakeland in the 2011 Class 5A final to lead West Boca to its first-ever state championship… Finished 8-1 with a 2.10 ERA and had 56 strikeouts in 53.1 innings while holding opponents to a .182 average… Tossed a no-hitter in a victory over Dwyer for the District 14-5A title… Collected second-team Palm Beach All-County honors in Class 6A-5A-4A and was named a Third-Team Preseason All-American by Perfect Game in 2011… Hurled a one-hit shutout in the final game of the PAL Summer Bash in 2011… Earned second-team Palm Beach All-County in Class 6A-5A-4A when he was a sophomore… Was the Most Valuable Player of the 2010 WWBA Florida Memorial Day Classic Tournament… .Earned Most Valuable Pitcher honors at the Perfect Game 16-U National Invitational Champions Tournament.
