AS A FRESHMAN (2008): Named to the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll…Made 11 appearances, including three starts, and was a perfect 2-0 with a 4.88 earned run average in 24 innings…Collected 14 strikeouts and gave up seven walks…Worked 3.2 innings out of the bullpen in the 3-2 edging of UNF on April 9…Allowed three hits and an unearned run in notching the win…Called upon in both ends of the doubleheader at Tennessee on April 5…Had a career-high four strikeouts over 2.1 innings during the nightcap after tossing a scoreless inning in the opener…Started against Jacksonville on March 25 and went 4.2 innings, with seven hits and five runs, in UF's 11-6 win…Threw five shutout frames to earn his first collegiate victory on March 5 versus Campbell…Retired Siena in the ninth stanza on seven pitches in his Division I debut on Feb. 24.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Chase Mann at A&M Consolidated High School…Selected in the 34th round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft by the Colorado Rockies…Collected first-team all-district recognition during his final two prep seasons…Was named a Rawlings Preseason All-American prior to his senior campaign…The right-hander went 5-2 with a 2.61 ERA for the Tigers in '07 and helped them to the district championship…Delivered seven complete games, three shutouts and fired a no-hitter…Registered 82 strikeouts in 59 innings on his way to first-team All-Brazos Valley honors…Was also named the team's Most Valuable Player…Earned first-team All-District 13-5A as a junior after posting a 5-3 record with a 2.27 ERA, five complete games and a pair of saves.
