AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2007): Chosen to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the first timeā¦Was chosen by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 39th round of the Major League Baseball Draft with the 1,182nd selectionā¦Missed the entire season while recovering from injury.
(2006): Earned a medical redshirt after pitching a total of four innings over four appearancesā¦Registered four strikeouts and issued seven walksā¦Worked one inning in the third contest against Vanderbiltā¦Had a season-high two frames out of the bullpen at South Carolinaā¦Surrendered three hits and one run to the Gamecocksā¦Made his first collegiate start against Mercer on Feb. 15ā¦Notched two K and walked three batters in his one inning of action.
AS A FRESHMAN (2005): Made seven appearances out of the bullpen during his rookie campaignā¦Threw 7.2 innings, with six strikeouts and three walks...Was 0-0 with a 5.87 ERAā¦Tossed a season-high 2.1 innings, allowing four hits and three runs with two strikeouts, against Ole Miss in the semifinal round of the SEC Tournament on May 28ā¦Picked up an inning of work against both Villanova and Michigan Stateā¦Saw his first career action versus Florida A&M on Feb. 15 and recorded a pair of strikeouts over two innings without surrendering a hit.
SUMMER: Joined Gator teammates Kris Gawriluk and Tommy Wynn on the Daytona Beach Barracudas of the Florida State Collegiate League in the summer of 2005ā¦Over seven relief appearances, Branham was 0-0 with a 3.00 ERA in 22 inningsā¦Recorded six saves and totaled 30 strikeouts...Appeared in the league's All-Star Game.
HIGH SCHOOL: Competed for head coach John Crumbley at Jesuit High School and earned three varsity lettersā¦Chosen as a Louisville Slugger All-American and earned second-team All-America honors from
