AS A FRESHMAN (2007): Began the year in the bullpen and developed into the Gators' Friday night starter…Made 18 appearances, including five starts, and was 4-2 with a 4.25 ERA…Pitched a total of 55 innings, with 24 strikeouts and 22 walks…Did not permit an earned run over six innings to No. 7 South Carolina in the opening round of the SEC Tournament…Gave up five hits and issued a career-high five free passes but none of the three runs he yielded were earned…Was not involved in the decision, a 4-3 USC triumph in 12 innings…Recognized as the SEC Freshman of the Week on May 14 after playing a key role in the Gators' first-ever series triumph at LSU...Making just his third start, the right-hander limited the Tigers to three runs over a career-high eight innings as the UF collected its first win in Baton Rouge since March 14, 1999 with a 19-3 victory…Picked up his first conference win by holding defending SEC regular-season champion Alabama to a couple of runs over 7.1 innings in a 6-2 triumph…Made his collegiate starting debut on the road at No. 1 Vanderbilt versus All-American David Price on April 27 and worked 5.1 innings, surrendering three runs in the series opener...Tossed three scoreless frames in the finale at Georgia and collected the 3-2 win in 11 innings as the Gators completed a weekend sweep…Earned first-ever win as the Orange and Blue rallied for seven runs in the ninth to down USF, 10-7…Was perfect for two innings in his first action versus Florida A&M on Feb. 13 and registered a pair of strikeouts.
HIGH SCHOOL: Right-handed pitcher from Bishop Kenny High School…Played for coaches Tommy Edwards and Bob West…Also saw time in center and left field for the Crusaders… Achieved second-team all-state in Class 4A as a senior after going 8-2 on the mound…Bishop Kenny finished 26-3 and placed second in the state after winning the regional title…Mullaney fired a shutout against Bishop Moore in the state semifinals…An honorable mention all-state selection in Class 4A as a sophomore, he was sidelined with an injury during his junior campaign…Finished 8-3 in 2004, with a 0.76 ERA…Totaled 54 strikeouts in 67 innings on his way to a spot on the all-city team…Took home the team's pitching award twice…Member of the junior varsity basketball team.
