AS A FRESHMAN (2008): Named to the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll…Appeared in 11 games...Hit .286 (2-for-7), drove in three runs and scored twice...Suffered a facial injury several days before the start of the campaign…Played in two games at Kentucky and was 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter...Scored on Avery Barnes’ ninth-inning triple in game two…Scored as a pinch runner on Barnes’ ninth-inning triple in game one at Tennessee...Was picked off in the ninth inning of game two at Ole Miss...Came in as a pinch runner but was caught stealing in the eighth in the final meeting with Auburn...Appeared in all three games of the series with Brown but went 0-for-4 with three K...Had a tremendous collegiate debut, going 2-for-2 with three RBI in the second meeting with Campbell...Homered on the first pitch he saw as a collegian with a pinch-hit round-tripper in the seventh inning...Added a run-scoring single in the eighth...Appeared in the season opener versus Siena as a pinch runner but was picked off. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner for head coach Landy Faedo at Alonso High School…Selected in the 50th round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft by the Minnesota Twins, whose Florida Area Scout at the time was current Gator assistant coach Brad Weitzel…Registered a .408 batting average with 32 RBI, 32 runs, 22 stolen bases, 10 doubles and eight home runs as a senior…Took home the team's Best Hitter Award…Helped the Ravens to a Class 6A region runner-up performance last spring…Picked up third-team all-state recognition…Was a first-team All-Western Conference selection as well as a Tampa Tribune first-team All-Hillsborough County recipient…Was a member of the National Honor Society and Students Against Drunk Driving (S.A.D.D.) at Alonso.
