Six Gators Set for Duke Bonk Invite

This is the season-opening tournament for the Gators
Cary, NC – Six members of the Florida women's tennis team will compete in the season-opening Duke Bonk Invite that gets underway at the Cary Tennis Park on Friday morning.
The individual singles and doubles event has six different singles and three doubles flights, with a Gator entrant in each.
Josie Kuhlman and Belinda Woolcock will compete together in the BLACK doubles draw, while Kourtney Keegan and Peggy Porter team in the BLUE draw and Anna Danilina and Spencer Liang will pair in the WHITE doubles draw.
Quoting Coach Roland Thornqvist:
On the Gators competing: "We're going to have two new doubles pairings competing, with only Josie and Belinda staying together so it's going to be interesting to see a couple of new lineups. They have looked pretty good in practice so I'm keen to see how we'll do against outside competition."
On preseason practice: "They've worked really hard. This is obviously a veteran group, they've been around the block so they know what to expect. They come here prepared to practice every day. They sense that there is going to be great competition for the spots so every one of them has done a good job preparing and I think we're looking forward to playing a tough, strong field at Duke."

- Athletes from 10 different schools will be competing: Duke, Florida, Furman, LSU, Miami, NC State, North Carolina, TCU, Virginia and VCU
- There will not be any live scoring of any of the matches
Scoring during the Event:
- Doubles matches will be an eight game pro set with no ad scoring
- Singles will be two out of three sets with no ad scoring

Fri., Sept. 16
- 9 a.m.: men's and women's doubles first round (followed by four first round matches)
- NB 10 a.m.: men's and women's doubles second round
- NB 1:30 p.m.: men's first round singles
- NB 2:30 p.m.: women's singles first round matches
- 9 a.m.: final round of men's and women's doubles (followed by four final round doubles matches)
- NB 10 a.m.: men's singles second round
- NB 12 p.m.: women's singles second round
- NB 1:30 p.m.: men's singles third round
