
Gators Men’s Tennis Host USF for Home Opener

The Gators are set to host the USF men’s tennis team in their home opener.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators will host their first home match of the season on Saturday, Jan. 17 against South Florida at noon.
The Gators 2024-25 season ended with a record of 15-12 and were ranked No. 28 by the ITA. The Gators have seen a winning record of 54-3 against the Bulls, with their last win coming in the 2024-25 postseason, where the Gators defeated the Bulls 4-1 to move on to the NCAA Second Round.
Recapping the Fall
In the fall tournament season, the Gators saw a combined 36-34 singles record and a combined 16-9 doubles record. The team had two players ranked in singles by the ITA with juniors Jeremy Jin being ranked at No. 31 and Henry Jefferson earning a ranking of No. 115. In doubles, the duo of Jefferson with senior Tanapatt Nirundorn reached the top-10 in rankings by the ITA coming at No. 6. The pair went to the NCAA Doubles tournament, where they reached the competition's semifinals and gained All-American honors before falling to the eventual national champions from Virginia. Nirundorn also received a doubles' ranking of No. 71 after being paired with freshman Andreas Timini and saw a record of 6-1.
About the Bulls
This match will serve as a great test against an instate opponent, who finished the 2024-25 season ranked at No. 23 by the ITA with a record of 20-5. The Bulls return seven players from their 24-25 season, and welcome three new faces to the program this season (one freshman, two transfers).
