Gators, Crimson Tide Set for SEC Sunday Showdown

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 16 University of Florida men's tennis team continues its weekend on the road with the No. 41 University of Alabama Crimson Tide on Sunday afternoon at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The Gators and Crimson Tide are each coming off 4-3 wins on Friday night.
Florida won a thriller in Starkville, Miss. on Friday night to extend their winning streak to four matches. After dropping the doubles point, the Gators grabbed four singles victories, three of which were determined in the third set. In the end, it was senior Gordon Watson on court five who clinched the match for the Orange and Blue over No. 24 Mississippi State.
UF is now 5-1 in SEC play and 10-4 overall this season. The team returns to the friendly confines of the Ring Tennis Complex next Friday night to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores at 5 p.m.
Last Serve with the Crimson Tide
After securing the doubles point with wins on one and three, the Gators wasted no time putting points on the board in singles. UF got singles victories from Orkin, Watson and Perez-Blanco for a 4-2 win on March 15, 2015 in Gainesville.

Freshmen Impressing Early
The Gators have seen production from freshmen Perez and Kessler this season. The past seven matches Kessler has been one of the first three to complete his respective singles match. Perez and Perez-Blanco are on a four-match doubles winning streak.
