GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators are back in action for another week of elite fall competition, as the blue and orange set out for the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships, held on the University of Tulsa campus in Tulsa, Okla. Florida's Oliver Crawford and Sam Riffice earned automatic entry into the event's main singles and doubles draw, in addition to No. 4 ranked doubles tandem Johannes Ingildsen and Brian Berdusco, while Ingildsen, Berdusco, Lukas Greif and Josh Goodger will compete in qualifying play starting on Monday, Oct. 7.
Coming off a solid weekend of competition at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships, Ingildsen (No. 64), Goodger (No. 68), Greif (No. 70) and Berdusco look to build off last weekend's performances, continuing to see a plethora of nationally-ranked opponents, while Crawford and Riffice (No. 49 doubles) take the court again in pursuit of, at the very least, another doubles title.
In last fall's ITA All-American Championships, Florida competed strong with quarterfinals and semifinals appearances in both the main singles and doubles draws. Crawford reached the quarterfinals of the main singles draw, while notching a semifinals appearance in the main doubles draw alongside Andy Andrade. Additionally, Ingildsen and Berdusco will look to back up their top-five doubles rank this week, as the duo reached the quarterfinals of the main doubles draw in last fall's tournament.
The Gators will be going up against the best competition they've seen this fall, as among those selected to play and currently in the All-American Championships men's main draw is six of the top 10 players in the Oracle ITA Preseason National Rankings, including Oliver Crawford (No. 3) and Sam Riffice (No. 10).
Pre-qualifying competition begins on Friday, Oct. 5-6, followed by qualifying play (Oct. 7-8) and main draw action on Wednesday, Oct. 9-13. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Wednesday (Oct. 2) that the men's and women's singles finals of the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships will air live in prime time on ESPNU.
Additionally, the men's singles quarterfinalists, consolation finalists, plus the doubles semifinalists and consolation finalists will earn automatic entry into the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, slated for Nov. 6-10 in Newport Beach, Calif.
