SUMMER: Played for Duluth (Minn.) of the Northwoods League last summer, helping the Huskies to the league's second-half championship… Batted .254 with six runs batted in and one homer in 26 games and led the squad during the postseason with a .429 average.
HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner at John Carroll Catholic High School for head coach Mike Cobb…Chosen second-team all-state in Class 3A and was first-team all-area by the Palm Beach Post & Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers as a senior…Also made first-team All-Treasure Lake Conference and was named Most Valuable Player of the Lake Placid Spring Invitational after belting homers in both the semifinal and championship games…Had a .493 batting average with 26 RBI, seven doubles and two round-trippers in his final prep season…Selected as a 2005 & 2006 Puma Preseason All-American by Baseball Factory and Team One and was invited to participate in the 2005 Florida Diamond Club Showcase…Served as the starting catcher for the 2005 All-American Prospects, the 17-and-under World Wood Bat Association (WWBA) national champions…Batted .417 that summer and did not allow a passed ball over a stretch of 70 consecutive innings.
