AS A SENIOR (2007): Signed a free-agent professional contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim after the season concluded…Assigned to the Orem (Utah) Owlz, a member of the Pioneer League…Led the Gators with a 3.44 earned run average and notched a team-high six saves…Over 27 appearances, the southpaw compiled a record of 2-2 in 52.1 innings, with 30 strikeouts and 15 walks…Matched his career-long outing of 5.1 innings in the heartbreaking 4-3 loss to No. 7 South Carolina to begin the SEC Tournament…The decisive run was unearned…Saved the series-opening win over Alabama with 1.2 scoreless innings…Had saves in back-to-back outings as the Gators defeated Kentucky and Florida State…Worked 3.2 innings, allowing one hit, and collected a save in the 9-1 win at Georgia on March 31…Picked up his first win of the campaign by tossing five frames in the series finale against Auburn and collected a save in game two by pitching two-thirds of an inning…Saved the second win over fifth-ranked Miami (Fla.) with 1.2 scoreless innings.
AS A JUNIOR (2006): Ranked third on the Gators with 27 appearances and was 1-1 with a 3.35 ERA…Tallied 30 strikeouts in 40.1 innings, with 11 walks…Limited opposing hitters to a .178 (8-for-45) clip with two outs…Did not permit a run in 15 of his 26 relief stints…Participated in 16 of his squad's 30 SEC contests...Induced a fly ball by Alabama's Brandon Belcher with two runners aboard and one down in the ninth inning on May 12 that was snared by center fielder Chris Woods…Darren O'Day would nail down the final out to preserve the Gators' 4-3 triumph over the eighth-ranked Crimson Tide…Held Auburn scoreless over a career-high 5.1 innings but UF wound up on the wrong side of 5-4 margin…Drew the starting assignment in the finale against Vanderbilt on April 2 and suffered the defeat after allowing five hits and four runs (two earned) over 2.1 innings…Notched first win as a Gator with a scoreless frame in the 17-6 conquest of Harvard…Fanned two batters and closed the 20-4 triumph over Cincinnati in his Florida debut on Feb. 12. AT FLORIDA C.C.-JACKSONVILLE (2003-04): Two-year pitcher for the Stars under the direction of head coach Chris Blaquiere…Made 14 appearances, including nine starts, in 2004…Was 3-4 and registered a 4.37 earned run average in 57.2 innings…Also picked up one save…Notched 45 strikeouts and issued 32 walks…Limited opponents to a .236 batting average…FCCJ was 26-20 overall and placed fourth in the Mid-Florida Conference with an 11-14 record…Selected by the Colorado Rockies with the 1,187th pick in the 40th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft…Turned in a 3-4 ledger in '03 and fired two complete games…Sported a 4.85 ERA in 52 innings.
SUMMER: Joined Gator teammates Bryson Barber and Bo Smith on the Rochester (Minn.) Honkers of the Northwoods League in the summer of 2005…Was a perfect 4-0 with a 3.07 ERA in 11 appearances, including seven starts…Struck out 30 batters in 44 innings and issued 14 walks.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Joe Hicks at Mandarin High School and earned three varsity letters…The Mustangs were 37-19 during his tenure…Was selected to the district/county all-star team in 2002…Struck out a school-record 17 batters in one game, a contest that lasted seven innings…Tossed a no-hitter in his first varsity outing.
