Competed at the 2014 Phillips 66 National Championships in Irvine, Calif., where he posted a career-best time in the 200-meter backstroke.
AT FLORIDA
2014-15:
Won the first event of his collegiate career in a dual meet Kentucky, as he placed first in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:49.54… Competed in multiple events at the Pinch A Penny All Florida Invitational and notched his best finish in the 200-yard backstroke, as he placed second in the B-Final with a time of 1:50.30… Missed the second half of the season due to illness… Honors: 2015 SEC Academic Honor Roll.
2013-14:
Recorded his best meet of the season at the Bulldog Last Chance Meet, as he won the ‘B’ final of the 200 freestyle in 1:39.75 and notched his collegiate best in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:46.08… In addition, time trialed a personal-best 49.49 seconds in the 100 back at the Last Chance Meet… Set his collegiate best in the 200 free in UF’s win over Auburn with a time of 1:39.67.
Prior to Florida:
Two-time Junior National Qualifier (2011, 2012)… Holds Lawton Chiles records in the 100 free, 200 free and 100 back… Four-time Swimmer of the Year at Lawton Chiles… Coached by Ashley Moore in high school… Trained with the Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club under Terry Maul… Was named a Scholastic All-American as a senior… Parents are Ron and Patty… Has one brother, Ryan… Club teammate of classmate Alyssa Yambor-Maul… Achieved Eagle Rank in the Boy Scouts… Plays the saxophone in his spare time.
