Why UF?
When I first applied to the University of Florida, I did not expect to attend, but financial considerations ultimately made it the best choice. Initially, I struggled to connect with the university since my background was in dance and my goals centered on pursuing opportunities in New York, which left me feeling somewhat discouraged. However, while exploring transfer options and auditioning elsewhere, I gradually grew to appreciate UF and realized that life extends beyond dance. After 12 years of solely focusing on dance, UF provided me with the opportunity to explore new interests, which fostered personal growth and helped me develop a strong sense of belonging. This transformation, combined with the school’s spirit, athletics, and opportunities for self-discovery, ultimately led me to embrace UF and remain a proud Gator.What movie character do you relate to and why?
The movie character I most closely identify with is Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. She exemplifies many of my core values and personal qualities, including hard work, ambition, dedication, humor, empathy, kindness, compassion, thoughtfulness, bravery, resilience, and courage. Similar to myself, she demonstrates a balance of intelligence and creativity. Her loyalty and respect for others serve as guiding principles in her actions.What legacy do you hope to leave for future Dazzlers?
As a first-year team member, I aim to promote a welcoming environment for new colleagues, inspiring others to extend the same openness, kindness, love, trust, and generosity that I have experienced. I hope to foster a sense of belonging and encourage individuals to embrace their unique qualities with confidence. When I move on, my goal is to leave behind greater opportunities, respect, and appreciation for those who follow.
